Sun Boy

The Boy who Burns Brightly….

Dirk Morgna of Earth is the son of a thermonuclear engineer who was assisting his father at his plant and doing quite remarkably well when he came upon Dr. Zaxton Regulus and interrupted him in the midst of an experiment which resulted in the death of another worker at the planet and Regulus’ dismissal from the plant.

Regulus sought his revenge against the young Morgna and locked him in a part of the plant where the radiation should have killed him, however it instilled Dirk with the power to emit light and heat, making him a living sun.

Dubbed Sun Boy, Dirk soon joined the Legion of Super-HeroesA group of intergalactic teenagers that have bonded together to defend the 30th century universe from evil. They recruited Superboy in their earliest adventures. and became one of its most exemplary pilots and scientific minds.     Over the years Dr. Regulus appears off and on and it is up to Sun Boy and the Legion to squelch his plans to kill Dirk and anyone who may get in his way.

Sun Boy in addition is a complete flirt and typically dates women outside of the Legionnaires, most of whom are aware of Dirk’s flirtatious nature and know not to take him seriously as commitment material.
