Thom Kallor is the son of two astronomers of the planet XanthuThe home planet of Star Boy of the Legion of Super-Heroes and as such was always a bit curious about the stars. One day he took a space cruiser and flew it through the tail end of a comet which caused him to lose control and crash back on XanthuThe home planet of Star Boy of the Legion of Super-Heroes. His parents believed Thom was dead, but he emerged from the crash without a scratch.

Thom then defended Nura when he killed her ex-boyfriend Kenz Nuhor in self-defense. Brought before the Legion court martial for taking another life, Thom was shown there were other ways to solve the problem and he did not have to take the man’s life.
