Spectre
The Ghost in the Grand Plan.. The Spirit of Divine Vengeance..

Jim Corrigan was a fairly normal beat cop when he was killed by mobsters. Jim’s soul found itself unable to enter Heaven’s gates and was sent back to Earth in order to eradicate evil. As a result of this new mandate Jim Corrigan took a page from the new mystery men and became The Spectre.
The Spectre began to exact ironic justices from his quarry starting with the men who had killed Jim Corrigan. It became increasingly more difficult to determine where Jim’s humanity ended and the Spectre’s thirst for justice started. The Spectre would become more and more detached from humanity and since no human is without sin, it was up to Jim to stop the Spectre from exacting harsh punishments for fairly insignificant transgressions. This push/pull relationship would take its strain and The Spectre would leave the Justice Society and most of humanity behind only to appear during moments of greatest CrisisA story of typically great importance to the DCUAn abbreviation of DC Universe or DC Comics Universe.
