Nothing is known about Sensor Girl prior to her induction in the Legion of Super-HeroesA group of intergalactic teenagers that have bonded together to defend the 30th century universe from evil. They recruited Superboy in their earliest adventures.. The event occurs like any other Legion meeting, with members deciding on whether or not to admit certain applicants into Legion membership when Saturn Girl enters the room and though not an active member anymore she asks the Legionnaires to consider Sensor Girl for Legion Membership stating that she has the BEST of reasons to be a Legionnaire.

The mystery does get solved, but that is an update saved for later.
