Robotman – Cliff Steele

The Race Car Driver in a Tin Can…

Cliff Steele was a race car driver who was involved in a horrific race day accident.  The only surviving part of dashing daredevil Cliff Steele to survive, was his brain.  Luckily Dr. Niles Caulder happened to be nearby and managed to move Cliff’s brain into a new robotic body.

Cliff made it through the surgery and after a few mishaps getting used to his new body, Cliff joined the Doom Patrol and more often than not was the team’s field leader in the midst of action.

When the Doom Patrol met their end at the hands of General Zahl, Cliff’s robotic body saved his brain and he was found and saved by Dr. Will Magnus, creator of the Metal Men.  Teaming up with Changeling and the New Teen TitansA group of young heroes, typically teenage sidekicks, that have banded together to fight crime and serve as a familyMeant to denote a group of characters that are all interrelated or share the same origins, methodology, or powers. (Example: All Members of the Green Lantern Corps belong to €œthe Lantern family €) unit of a sorts., Cliff was able to track down the Brotherhood of Evil and make them pay for killing the rest of the Doom Patrol.

Cliff then was summoned to join a new Doom Patrol put together by Arani Caulder, Celsius, who says she is Niles Caulder’s child-bride, a claim Cliff hesitates to believe as The Chief never mentioned her, but when you are a freak like Robotman, where else are you going to go?
