Plastic Man

The Slippery Eel….

Patrick O’Brien was orphaned at a very young age and became hardened by a rough life in a state run orphanage.  Upon reaching the age of 18, he became a sneak thief known as “The Eel”.  On one of his break ins of a chemical company, O’Brien was shot by a policeman and fell into some chemicals which got into the bullet wound.

Barely escaping from the police, O’Brien took refuge into the nearby mountains where he was found by a monk/hermit.  The old man turned the police away and nursed O’Brien back to health.  O’Brien was moved by the monk’s kindness and decided to change his life, he even made a bigger change once he knew that the accident at the chemical company had given him the ability to stretch his body into amazing shapes.

O’Brien maintained his “Eel” persona in order to get in with the criminals that he had allied and then catch them in the act.  Plastic Man gained a sidekick in another ex-criminal, Woozy Winks, who was immune to all harm thanks to a spell cast on him by an aged wizard, Zambi.

Plastic Man has worked as a special agent member of the F.B.I., the All-Star Squadron, and went on to assist Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters on Earth-X.

Powers

Elasticity - Plastic Man’s body is very elastic causing him to be very resistant to puncture wounds and other sorts of injuries.

Shape Change – Plastic Man can form his body into many simple shapes such as couches, vases, parachutes, even a dress on one occasion.

Stretching - Plastic Man’s body is able to stretch extremely far giving him an extended reach.

Vulnerabilities

Plastic Man’s body gives him a lot of defense from normal attacks.

Vulnerability to Extreme Temperatures – Plastic Man’s malleable form can react badly to extreme temperatures.  He can lose the ability to retain his shape in extremely hot environments and loses his stretching ability and can even be brittle and shatter in extremely cold environments.

Skills

Stealth – When Plastic Man was an accomplished sneak thief he was very stealthy.  This ability has gone away for the most part, though he still likes to “lie in wait” to surprise his quarry.

Taunt – Plastic Man frequently uses zany and wacky humorous comments in combat which causes his opponents to become angered and make mistakes in battle.  The most common mistake is underestimating him, which happens often.

Thief - Plastic Man still knows most of the ins and outs of criminal behavior and how thieves will behave.  Not to mention being an accomplished thief himself.
