Negative Man

Man in the Shell…

Larry Trainor was a test pilot for the government testing a plane that could travel in low Earth orbit above the atmosphere when his plane went into a massive radiation storm.  Larry’s plane shorted out and the radiation changed him permanently.  When the plane crashed, Larry’s body was glowing with burning radiation.

It took Niles Caulder’s genius to perfect special bandages that could keep Larry’s radiation shielded from others while he was still able to move around.  However Larry’s trip to the stars led to an interesting side effect.  Larry now was in possession of an astral form of negative energy that can leave his body.

This Negative Man form can fly and uses radiation touch to attack its opponents, however when this form leaves Larry’s body, his physical form goes unconscious and is unprotected.

Like the rest of the Doom Patrol, Larry met his end when the Doom Patrol was killed by General Zahl.
