Katana

The Swift Sword of Japan…

Not much is known of Katana except that she appears to be a bloodthirsty sword wielder of Asian descent bent on revenge when she first appears in Markovia, she killed General Karnz but left other soldiers alive and unconscious, so she seems to have a list of individuals that she has marked for death.

What is known is that she exhibited motherly tendencies towards Halo, with gave Batman the idea to pair the two of them together for support in Gotham as new members of The Outsiders.

How she came to be Katana (at least in early 1983) has yet to be revealed.

Powers

Katana appears to have no super powers whatsoever.

Vulnerabilities

Katana appears to be a normal woman with what one could assume are normal vulnerabilities.

Skills

Martial Artist – Katana is a master of several martial arts, easily on the order of Black Canary or Batman.  Opponents would be wise to take her seriously, however her diminutive size and gender cause enemies to underestimate her often, a failing that Katana enjoys exploiting.

Weapons Master – Katana is a master of her chosen weapon, the katana, she also carries a longer dagger/sword as well as throwing stars or shuriken.  One would be wise to assume that Katana may favor these weapons, but she is fully aware of other martial weapons.

Equipment

Costume – Katana’s costume comes with what presumes is a magnetic plate on the back allowing her sword to rest on her back when she is not using it without the need for a traditional scabbard.

The Soultaker Sword- Katana’s sword is shrouded in secrecy as well.  All that is known at this point is that the sword is called “The Soultaker” and that sometimes Katana will receive telepathic messages, presumably from the sword, giving combat advice.  The source or the reason for these voices, has not yet been revealed.
