Harlequin/Joker’s Daughter

The Daughter of Who Again?

Duela Dent is the daughter of… well that’s the whole point, isn’t it?  During many beginning forays into adventuring Duela acted as a villain, in order to get the attention of Robin, the Boy Wonder, and it worked.  Duela masqueraded as The Joker’s Daughter, the Riddler’s Daughter, “Catgirl” Catwoman’s Daughter, Penguin’s Daughter, and Scarecrow’s Daughter.

Eventually, Robin nominates Duela for membership in the Titans and the team begrudgingly accept her, while trusting that Robin is doing the right thing.  Duela changes her name from Joker’s Daughter to Harlequin after she helps the Titans defeat Two-Face or Harvey Dent, whom Robin theorizes is actually her father since she shares his last name and her first name is Duela, or Duel, a fight between two people.

Harlequin assists the Titans until they disband and then she disappears into the ether to return when you are least expecting it.

Powers

Duela has no special super powers.

Vulnerabilities

Duela has the normal vulnerabilities that you or I do.

Slightly Schizophrenic – Duela frequently makes up her back story, constantly changing details here and there to suit her needs, but she truly does believe everything she is saying.  She has cultivated a fascination for being the daughter of a famous Gotham villain, but whether this is true or not, remains a topic of debate for Duela keeps changing her parentage with every appearance.  Her slight sanity imbalance also is an advantage making her dangerous in combat.

Skills

Acrobatics – Duela is remarkably nimble and agile, able to balance easily and perform circus tricks like walkiing a tightrope or performing somersaults.

Special Fighting Technique – Duela is capable in combat, however it is mostly because she is completely unpredictable in combat.  Almost never pulling the same tricks twice, foes are constantly off balance when it comes to fighting Harlequin.

Taunt – Fighting a clown is never serious business as Duela is quick to point out to her foes, usually angering them while she plants her feet in their face.

Equipment

Tricks – Duela carries with her an almost unlimited array of gadgets all based upon clown motifs, similar to the Joker’s but feminized.   Squirting flowers, seltzer bottles, rollerskate shoes, bubble gum pipes, smoke pellets are amongst her favorite gags, but the sky is the limit.
