Hawkman’s Protegee

Charley Parker is an orphan who idolized Hawkman so much that he made a costume duplicate of Hawkman’s Thanagarian costume.  To Charley’s surprise one day a strange light enveloped him and transformed him from regular costume to an exact duplicate of Hawkman’s costume including Nth metal.

Charley took the opportunity to take Hawkman’s place, as Hawkman had been forced to return home for a time.  The Justice League was called into investigate as the Midway City Police knew Hawkman had left some time ago, but someone was leaving criminals on their doorstep with a single golden feather behind.

Soon it was revealed that Matter Master, one of Hawkman’s old enemies had actually caused Charley’s transformation due to a deep seated hatred of the hero and his need to defeat him.  The JLA assisted Charley in defeating the Matter Master though it seemed Charley’s transformation into Golden Eagle was permanent.

Charley eventually would join Titans West and team up with the Titans once before he semi-retired from adventuring.

Powers

Insta-Change – By willing it, Charley can turn into a young thanagarian warrior, complete with weaponry and hawk equipment.

Vulnerabilities

Charley is a normal human when he is not Golden Eagle, once transformed, he is a bit tougher, stronger, more athletic, and quicker.

Star Struck – Charley idolizes Hawkman, this can sometimes cloud his judgment.

Skills

Athletic – Charley is a strong athlete which helps him in his crime fighting.

Knowledge, Hawkman – Charley is the number one Hawkman fan on the planet and knows everything there is to know about him.

Equipment

Helmet:  Charley’s helmet serves for protection and as a mask.

Nth Metal:  Charley’s Belt is lined with the antigravity metal known as Nth Metal.  This metal allows Charley to escape gravity and form the basis of his power of Flight.

Weapons:  Charley typically employs a vast array of medieval weaponry, most usually he favors the mace or flail.

Wings:  Charley’s wings allow him to direct his movement while using his Nth Metal belt.  Without the wings, he would simply hover once his momentum has stopped.
