Firebrand – Danette Reilly

The Flaming Dilettante…

Danette Reilly is the sister of the original Firebrand, Rod Reilly, which came in really handy when she was studying a volcano on Hawaii and was kidnapped by the evil sorcerer Wotan and Per Degaton.  Through a combination of magic and fate, Danette gained the ability to shoot fire and plasma from her hands as well as fly by super heating the air around her with a fiery aura.

When Danette discovered Rod’s costume in his apartment after he was injured, Danette decided to use her new powers and become the second Firebrand.  She fell in love with the reluctant super-villain Cyclotron and after Cyclotron’s death, Firebrand and Al Pratt, the Atom, raised Cyclotron’s daughter Terry.

Firebrand was a member in good standing with the All-Star Squadron and served as one of its core heroes.  She had an unusual relationship with the Shining Knight and after the war she and the Knight had several adventures, during one of which Danette was killed.
