Ferro Lad
The Iron Knight…
Andrew Nolan of Earth was born a mutant with the ability to coat his body in a movable iron sheath, with every power comes a downside it seems, and Andrew was also hideously disfigured so he wore a mask to hide his face from others.
Ferro Lad joined the Legion along with Karate Kid, Nemesis Kid, and Princess Projectra at one of the largest open calls the Legion had had up to that point. When Nemesis Kid was revealed as a traitor the other three rookie Legionnaires bonded right away. For Ferro Lad these were happy days and they were about to be cut short.
Scientists detected a Sun-Eater, a creature who devours stars, coming towards Earth’s solar system. The Legion found itself dangerously short staffed and was forced to team up with five villains to help combat the Sun-Eater. The end result was that Ferro Lad sacrificed himself to explode an absorbatron bomb which reduced himself and the Sun-Eater to atoms.
In Legion myth, the ghost of Ferro Lad still roams the halls of the Legion Headquarters and you can sometimes hear the heavy footsteps of iron feet.
