The Man of the Atomic Age…

 

For Nathaniel Adams, being in the military was a life long dream, soon to become a full fledged nightmare.

Framed for a crime he did not commit by his superior Colonel Wade Eiling, Captain Nathaniel Adams was forced to take part in an experimental military project to see if an alien metal that had been recovered would be enough to protect someone from a nuclear blast.

The blast went off with Nathaniel in the alien cockpit and the alien metal melted and adhered to what was Nathan’s skin causing a chain reaction that turned Nathan’s body into an energy being of immense powers.

Nathan became Captain Atom and the tool of the U.S. Government, under the direction of the man who framed him for murder.

Powers

Quantum Field Manipulation - Captain Atom’s abilities are based around the quantum energy field that allows him to do many things including the following:

  • Atomic/Matter Manipulation - Captain Atom can manipulate energy and matter at the quanta level.  He is able to convert matter to energy and back again as his needs demand.
  • Energy Absorption - Captain Atom can absorb any sort of energy and store it for other purposes later.
  • Energy Blast - Captain Atom can create any form of energy and blast it out in a powerful attack.
  • Flight - Captain Atom can use this energy to fly at terrific speeds.
  • Invulnerability - Captain Atom is very resistant to damage from any sources.
  • Super Strength - Captain Atom is one of the strongest metahumans on Earth.  He is in the class of metahumans along with Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, and Captain Marvel.
  • Sustenance - Captain Atom has no need of food or water and instead lives off energy.
  • Time Travel - Captain Atom can leap ahead on the timeline should he need to, however this takes immense concentration and is physically taxing.  Should Captain Atom absorb too much energy he may leap ahead (or backwards) in the timeline, this leap will depend upon how far over his limit he exceeded.
Vulnerabilities
Captain Atom is no longer human and is not susceptible to normal damage, however as his armor can be damaged he can be made to flee a fight so he does not explode and kill innocents.
Skills

Military Science - Captain Atom as a trained Captain in the military (Air Force) is trained at all military procedure and tactics.
Equipment

Symbiotic Armor - Captain Atom’s metallic armor is the remains of a metallic alien that shields others from the radiation that Captain Atom has become.
