Bumblebee

The busy bee…

Karen Beecher was in love with a boy and that boy was Teen Titan, Mal Duncan.  She decided the best thing she could do was to make herself useful to Mal and the Titans by joining their cause.  It was then extremely lucky that Karen is a bit of a scientific prodigy and so she built her own bumblebee exosuit which gave her many powers that resembled those of a bee.

Karen eventually joined the Titans and she and Mal fell in love and married.  When the Titans disbanded, the bought the old disco that had served as the Titans headquarters for that era and got married.  Karen went on and became employed as a research scientist at S.T.A.R. while Mal runs the disco, now a thriving Jazz joint called Gabriel’s horn.

Karen has mostly retired from super-heroics, though she does don the Bumblebee suit on occasion to help the Titans out on major cases as needed.

Powers

Bumblebee has no intrinsic super powers.

Vulnerabilities

Bumblebee is a normal human female with all the same vulnerabilities as you or I.

Skills

Gadgeteer – Bumblebee is a gifted inventor taking her scientific mind and applying those principals to build her Bumblebee suit.

Scientist – Karen is a gifted scientist who specializes in observing the special abilities of insects and then translating those abilities for human compatibility.

Equipment

Bumblebee Suit- Karen’s suit gives her the following abiliites.

• Body Armor – Karen’s suit serves as a form of body armor to assist in absorbing/deflecting damage taken during an attack.
• Flight – Through her bumblebee wings.
• Enhanced Strength – The bumblebee suit enables Karen to perform tasks that she normally would not be able to perform.
• Expanded Hearing – Karen can place bugs in places and then pick up the transmissions via her antennae.  Karen can also use her antennae to pick up radio transmissions, such as police band.
• Expanded Vision – Through her goggles.
• Electrical “Stings” – Her wrist gauntlets can fire electrical jolts to an opponent.
• Honey Gun – Her wrist gauntlets can also fire a sticky substance that can cause an opponent to be unable to move freely.
• Sonic Disruptors – Through her bugs Bumblebee can cause localized sonic interference, like a loud buzzing noise.
