All-Star Squadron

After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt delivered his speech to Congress, the United States, and the World, announcing that America would enter into World War II as an ally to the British to beat back the Axis powers of Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and the Rising Sun of Japan.

To that end FDR’s first act of drafting summoned all of the so-called mystery men that they would serve America as its heroes at home.  The present Justice Society of America members had recounted how they had come under the mental control of Hitler when they entered Axis territory, preventing them from joining the war directly, lest they become tools at Hitler’s disposal.

So the All-Star Squadron specialized in keeping the lid on things at home while our fighting forces did their work overseas.  Mostly fighting saboteurs and spies of the Axis, the Squadron came up against almost all of the JSA villains and gained a few of their own over time.

By the time the war ended the JSA’s ranks were huge and this was truly the height of the Golden Age of the Mystery Men in heroism.   When the war ended, the Squadron disbanded and most went into private life after a while allowing the Justice Society of America to take over the duties of keeping America safe.
