Geography

Here is where you will find all the information on the places of the DCU.  You can always assume that most of the DCU Earths are exact duplicates of the one we exist upon, with some additional fictional countries, cities, businesses, etc..,

Specific Locations

 

Arkham Asylum – The criminal sanitarium located in Gotham City.

Batcave – Batman’s headquarters.

Belle Reve Penitentiary – This prison is located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans Louisiana.

Blackgate Prison – This prison is located in Gotham City.

Daily Planet Building – This tall structure in Metropolis features an icon of the world on top of it.

Fortress of Solitude – Superman’s retreat in the antarctic.

Ivy University – Where Ray Palmer, the Atom, works.

Justice League’s Cave Headquarters – The first headquarters of the Justice League of America located in Happy Harbor, Rhode Island.

Justice League’s Satellite Headquarters – This satellite headquarters exists in synchronous orbit at 22,300 miles above the Earth.

Legion of Super-Heroes Headquarters – Located in 30th Century Metropolis, the first headquarters was a tessaract built with an outside covering resembling a retro space ship.  A second structure was built which resembled a large orange/bronze building without windows and a large “L” on it.  The third headquarters resembles a metallic spaceship.  The Legion’s original headquarters was given to the Legion of Substitute Heroes who were previously using the Justice League’s old Cave Headquarters in Happy Harbor.

LexCorp – The main legitimate business of Lex Luthor in Metropolis.

Madame Xanadu’s Curiosity Shop – Located on Christie Street in Greenwich Village, New York City, New York where Madame Xanadu helps all who need her.

Medicus One – In the 30th Century, this Earth orbiting hospital serves as a major trauma center.

Nullport – The 30th Century’s spaceship construction and selling asteroid.

S.T.A.R. Labs – Scientific and Technological Advanced Research Laboratories.  Many locations of this company exist, notably in Metropolis and New York City.

Wayne Enterprises – The main building in Gotham that houses most of Bruce Wayne’s businesses which are managed through here.  This includes WayneTech and the Wayne Foundation.

Wayne Manor – The home of Bruce Wayne in Gotham City.

Smallville, Kansas – Boyhood home of Clark Kent, Superman along with his adopted mother and father, Martha and Jonathan Kent, his best friend Pete Ross and his first girlfriend, Lana Lang.

Star City, California – Home to Green Arrow and Black Canary

Washington, D.C. – Political seat of the United States, sometimes home to Wonder Woman and other heroes.

Waymore, Nebraska – Elongated Man is a native of this small town.

 

Countries

 

Atlantis – The underwater country that is ruled by Aquaman.  Atlantis is made up of two underwater domed cities known as Tritonis and Poseidonis.

Austanburg – A small country in Europe.

Badhnisia – The location of the origin of Johnny Thunder and his Thunderbolt.

Bialya – A powerful but small nation bordered by Syria, Turkey, and the Mediterranean Sea.  Bialya is the source of a great deal of violence and terrorism in the DCU as the nation struggles for importance in the world’s stage.

Bogatago – A small country north of Brazil that is a major source of the illegal drug imports to the other parts of the world.  Democratic in name only, the country is ruled with an iron fist by a dictatorship.

Diablo Island – Diablo Island has a mountain of wealth in black diamonds, however those black diamonds unlock the evil Eclipso in men’s hearts.

Dinosaur Island – An island that seems to have dinosaurs still living on it.  Located in the South Pacific, this island came into prominence during World War II.

Feithera – The home of Northwind’s people.

Gorilla City – The African home of a race of vastly intelligent apes.  An invisible dome protects the city from prying eyes.  Home to one of the Flash’s most insidious villains, Gorilla Grodd.

Markovia – The home country of Geo-Force & Terra

Modora – Home to the villainous Sonar.

Paradise Island – The legendary home of the Amazons

Qurac – A country bordering the Persian Gulf, like Bialya, it is struggling with the advancement of Western Civilization and seeks to stop it via Jihad tactics.

Themyscira – The proper Greek name for Paradise Island.  (THEM-uh-SCARA-ah) like Mascara

Vlatava – The home country of Count Vertigo.

Zandia – An island home to the Church of Blood and a known den of criminal safety from law enforcement.

Aello – An ice covered world in the Vegan System.

Apokolips – The dread home of Darkseid and his minions.

Appelax – The home world of seven warlords sent to Earth to use it as an arena to determine their home world’s leader.

Avalon – A xenophobic world in the 30th Century that is a feudal society.

Bgtzl – The home world of Phantom Girl of the Legion of Super-Heroes.  Existing in a “phantom” dimension all of its inhabitants have the ability to become immaterial and pass through solid objects.

Bismoll – Home to Matter-Eater Lad of the Legion of Super-Heroes, all inhabitants of Bismoll inhabit a poisonous world and adapted to eat inorganic matter.

Bolocax Vik – Located in Green Lantern Space Sector #674, this planet was destroyed by Sinestro, only Kilowog survived.

Braal – The home world of Cosmic Boy of the Legion of Super-Heroes, home of mining industry and magnetic monsters.  The inhabitants developed magnetic powers to fight their predators.

Brande’s Asteroid – Orbiting the Sun, Brande’s asteroid is owned by R.J. Brande, the richest man in the 30th Century, who is really a Durlan stuck in human form.

Brztal – Home to Kulak, one of The Spectre’s enemies.

Cairn – A world ruled by drug lords, home to the L.E.G.I.O.N.’s Garryn and Marji’n Bek

Cargg – The home world of Triplicate Girl/Duo Damsel of the Legion of Super-Heroes, all inhabitants are able to split into three identical beings.

Changralyn – Home to a race of powerful but pacifistic rock like creatures within the Vegan System.

Citadel World – The world by which the Vegan system is lorded over.  This world is always in winter and its inhabitants are a cruel hairy race of barbaric warriors.

Colu – Home to a race of descendants of the organic Brainiac.  In the future, home world of Brainiac Five of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Daxam – Home to an advanced race of medical and space scientists who appear to share a lot with Kryptonians, however they possess a deadly fatality to exposure to lead.

Dominion – Home planet to a race of conquerors known as Dominators, this race is heavily influenced by its Caste system as indicated by the red circle on their heads, the larger the circle, the more power that Dominator holds.

Dredfahl – Within the Vegan system, a volcanic world that exists as both garbage heap and prison for the Vegan’s systems worst criminals (or revolutionaries) as the case may be.

Dryad – The world exploded in the 3th century and led Blok of the Legion of Super-Heroes on a brief spree as a villain until seeing the light.

Durla – A radioactive world ravaged by an ancient war that spawned a race of shapeshifters.

Euprhorix – This lush world is inhabited by a people who believe in magic as a force and in staunch moral opposition to The Citadel in the Vegan System.

Gil’Dishpan – Home to a methane world of teleporting beings.

Gryxoria – Home planet of Antennae Boy of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Hnyxx – This Vegan System world is covered with water and thanks to a thick atmosphere has a foggy appearance.

Hykraius – This water world is home to a telepathic and telekinetic race.

Imsk – Home to a race of humanoids who all have the ability to shrink.  Home to Shrinking Violet of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Janus – Home planet to Double-Header of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Karna – A planet in the Vegan system home to several types of animal-humanoids including a lizard type called a Gordanian, a snake type called a Sslithiss, and a feline type called a Karnan.

Kathoon – Home to Night Girl of the Legion of Substitute-Heroes, a world shrouded in darkness.

Khundia – Home planet to a warrior conqueror race known as the Khund.

Korbal – Home planet to the race of lightning beasts in an electrified atmosphere that gave the Ranzz siblings their electrical powers.

Krypton – Home world of Superman and all surviving Kryptonians, destroyed shortly after Superman was born.  Other large surviving aspects of Krypton include:

  • Argo City – The City blew off in a big chunk and was where Supergirl originated from.
  • Kandor – This City was bottled by the evil Brainiac as a scientific curiosity.

Lallor – Not a planet in the United Planets, home to the Heroes of Lallor.

Lupra – Home world of Color Kid of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Lythyl – An outlying world of warriors where the strong rule and the weak serve. This is the planet that Karate Kid’s father was born.

Maltus – The original homeworld of the Guardians of the Universe.

Mardru – Home planet of Chlorophyll Kid of the Legion of Substitute Heroes

Mars – Home of the Martian Manhunter

Naltor – Home of a race of precogs, where Dream Girl and the White Witch of the Legion of Super-Heroes were born.

Neptune – Home to a race of humanoids that turn two-dimensional.

New Alliance – Formerly the prison planet of the Vegan System, once freed by the New Teen Titans and the Omega Men the planet was renamed the New Alliance planet.

New Genesis – The beacon of light for all who wish to come to it, the antithesis of Darkseid, ruled by Highfather.

Oa – Home of the Guardians of the Universe, head of the Green Lantern Corps

Ogyptu – A race of stone giants live here however they move so slowly as to appear inanimate to a normal moving humanoid.

Okarra – Home of the Warlords of Okarra, the finest warrior trainers in the Vegan Star System.

Orando – The medieval world held in the past by years of tradition and ruled justly by the Voxv family line.  Currently Queen Projectra of the Legion of Super-Heroes is the rightful queen while Karate Kid is her princely consort.

Phlon – Home to Chemical King of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Promethean Galaxy – Location of Apokolips and New Genesis

Protean Planet – Where the Proteans come from.  Both Proty 1 and Proty 2 from the Legion of Super-Pets are Proteans.

Rann – Home of Alanna, Sardath, and the rest of the Raanians, often visited by Adam Strange

Rashashoon – A wealthy planet in the Vegan system that is a methane giant.

Rimbor – Home of Ultra Boy of the Legion of Super-Heroes, a world known for its stringent privacy laws, Rimbor is a “rough neighborhood.”

Rogue – A planet that rotates in and out of the Vegan star system in a very weird cycle.

Schwar – Home to Fire Lad of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Shanghalla – The cemetery of heroes in the future.

Sindromeda – A planet in the Vegan star system that has been ravaged by warfare.

Slagg – An artificial appearing rock world in the Vegan System.

Slyggia – The homeworld of Salakk of the Green Lantern Corps.

Somahtur – Home planet of Infectious Lass of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Starhaven Colony – Home of the Amerind race, all winged humanoids like Dawnstar of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Takron-Galtos – The 30th Century Prison planet.

Talok VIII – The warrior world of different races of town folk and hill people.  Home to the race of shadow protectors of which Shadow Lass of the Legion of Super-Heroes is one.

Tamaran – Home to Starfire of the New Teen Titans

Thanagar – Home world of Hawkman and Hawkwoman.

Tharr – Home world of Polar Boy of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Throneworld – The home world of Prince Gavyn, Starman in Space.

Titan – Home world of Saturn Girl of the Legion of Super-Heroes, its inhabitants all have some level of psionic ability.

Trom – Home world of Element Lad, the last survivor of the planet of transmuters.

Ungara – The home world of Abin Sur, the Green Lantern who bestowed the Green Lantern Ring upon Hal Jordan.

Venegar – The world of the Emerald Empress of the Fatal Five.

Ventura – The universe’s largest hedonistic world, think Las Vegas of space.

Voorl – A dread planet that is home to a race of extremely violent humanoids that when they die produce 100 offspring.

War World – Home to Mongul and Mongal, blood enemies of Superman.

Weber’s World – An artificial world that is the largest seat of bureaucracy in the United Planets.

Winath – Home world of Lightning Lad and Lightning/Light Lass of the Legion of Super-Heroes, its an agricultural world.

Earth One – The heroes here are active from 1954-1985.

Earth Two – The heroes here are active from 1939-1985.

Earth Three – The Earth were morality is switched and those usually heroic are evil and vice versa.

Earth Four – The Earth where the Charlton characters existed until 1985.

Earth C – The Earth where everyone appears as a cartoonish animal, home to Captain Carrot and his amazing Zoo Crew.

Earth C-Minus – The Earth where everyone appears as a cartoonish animal, home to the Justa Lotta Animals.

Earth Prime – The Earth where no super powered beings existed.

Earth S – The Earth where the Fawcett characters existed until 1985.

Earth X – The Earth where the Quality characters existed and where the Nazi’s had won World War II.
